A Personalized Approach
-
At many other tutoring companies, “expert” tutors are graduate students or young professionals with little experience and passion for the SAT/ACT. I am a full-time test prep professional tutoring since 2014 with over 8000 hours of tutoring experience with a variety of students. I’m constantly learning how the tests are evolving and adjust my materials accordingly.
-
I pride myself on making the SAT and ACT prep process enjoyable for each student. I love hearing from parents that their student is excited to learn from me each week. I approach each session as a conversation, actively involving the student to apply the information and techniques he or she is learning.
-
Unlike many other tutoring services, Story Test Prep does not offer tutoring packages or require you to attend set number of sessions. Each student has a different goal in mind and will require a different amount of preparation. Schedule as many or as few sessions as your student requires to reach his or her goal.
-
An important part of the process for me is building a relationship with each student. By being interested in his or her life, I gain the trust necessary to increase the student’s confidence with the tests and within him/herself.
-
After reviewing a student’s diagnostic test(s) or previous score(s), I will devise a plan based on the student’s needs. I prioritize the most frequent topics to each parts of the tests as well as the material a student needs the most practice. I have created my own study materials from the most recent proctored tests, which allows me to edit the material as the tests evolve.
